# Etsy not available in my country: how do I sell digital downloads? **The problem** "My printables and Canva templates are ready. Etsy's shop setup does not show my country, and every video says to use a friend's address." If Etsy is not available in your country, it is because Etsy opens new shops only where Etsy Payments works, and N. Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Nigeria are not on its list. For digital downloads and fixed-price service packages, sell through your own checkout link instead, in your own name. Because Etsy ties new shops to Etsy Payments. Etsy's help page [Why Can't I Open a Shop in My Country?](https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500006519562-Why-Can-t-I-Open-a-Shop-in-My-Country) says: "Most sellers opening new shops on Etsy are required to onboard with Etsy Payments." And: "If you don't see your country in the dropdown menu during the shop opening process, then selling on Etsy isn't available in your country at this time." Old shops do not help either. Etsy says a closed shop that was never on Etsy Payments "most likely will not be able to reopen" unless it can accept Etsy Payments. ### Which countries can use Etsy Payments? Etsy's [Countries Eligible for Etsy Payments](https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/115015710408-Countries-Eligible-for-Etsy-Payments) lists the countries where shops can get paid. Serbia and Pakistan are on it with an asterisk: "Sellers in countries with * next to their names can accept Etsy Payments with a Payoneer Payment Account." Türkiye is on it without one. The rest of this page is for the six countries that are not on the list, and for anyone who wants a second sales channel next to Etsy. ### Can I use a friend's address, a relative's account or a VPN? Don't. Etsy checks who you are and where you bank. Its page [How to Verify Your Identity on Etsy](https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/22481159004567-How-to-Verify-Your-Identity-on-Etsy) says Persona "will compare your ID photo to your selfie" and that "the name on the ID matches the name on the bank account you shared". Etsy's bank page says "the name on your bank account must match the legal and tax information you provided when opening your shop", and its Etsy Payments countries page says "You must use a bank account from the country on file with your shop." So a shop on someone else's address or bank is a shop in their name, not yours. If the checks fail, Etsy can stop your payouts or suspend the shop, and the money from your sales sits in an account you do not control. Even one of the top YouTube results warns that a fake address or VPN "can lead to suspension". The safe rule: sell only in your own name, from the country you live in. ### How do I sell digital downloads without Etsy? Sell from your own checkout link. You lose Etsy's search traffic, so you bring buyers yourself: Pinterest, Instagram, your own page, or a store that AI assistants can read. With AgentaOS, you create a product and get a buyer link. Services only as fixed-price packages: the same deliverable, price and delivery time for every buyer, approved per account ([Terms, section 21](https://agentaos.ai/terms)). Not allowed: physical goods or anything shipped, work scoped per client, and donations ([Terms, section 5](https://agentaos.ai/terms)). ### How do I set it up, step by step? 1. **Check your country.** Find it on our [country list](https://agentaos.ai/countries). In Nigeria and Pakistan, open a USD account at your bank. 2. **Pick what you sell.** One product per link: a planner, a template pack, an e-book, or a fixed package. 3. **Prepare delivery.** Put the file or template link on a thank-you page that is not in your site menu.
