Selling courses

Teachable payments not available in my country: how do I sell my course?

The problem“I built my course on Teachable. At payment setup it sent me to the Custom Payment Gateway, which wants my own Stripe account. Stripe does not accept sellers in my country.”

If Teachable payments are not available in your country, Teachable sends you to its Custom Payment Gateway, which runs on your own Stripe account, and Stripe does not accept sellers in N. Macedonia, Serbia or Pakistan. You have four honest routes: native payments if you are eligible, PayPal where it can receive money, your own Stripe through a company abroad, or selling the course through a merchant of record that pays out to your country and enrolling buyers on Teachable or Kajabi yourself.

The reason

Why does Teachable send me to Stripe?

Teachable Payments, Teachable's own checkout, is available in 41 countries. N. Macedonia, Serbia and Pakistan are not on the list. Teachable's setup article says: "If your country is not supported, you'll be routed to CPG onboarding instead." CPG, the Custom Payment Gateway, connects your existing Stripe Standard account, and Teachable does not handle tax on it (Teachable, updated 9 September 2026).

An older Teachable article, updated 22 June 2026, still says ineligible schools get the Monthly Payment Gateway instead (Teachable). Third-party guides say that gateway pays out to PayPal once a month; Teachable's own article on it now asks for a login, so we could not confirm it. Check what your payment settings show you.

Kajabi is similar. Kajabi Payments is for businesses registered in the US, Canada, Australia, the UAE, the UK and 20 euro countries. Everyone else connects Stripe or PayPal (Kajabi overview, Kajabi Europe list).

The dead end: N. Macedonia, Serbia and Pakistan are not on Stripe's list of supported countries.

Honestly: if you are in Serbia and your buyers are happy to pay with PayPal, connecting PayPal on Kajabi is the least work. If you already run a company in an eligible country, use native payments. The other two routes are for everyone else.

Step by step

How do I sell my course, step by step?

  1. Check your own eligibility first. In Teachable, open Sales > Payment Settings and pick your country. In Kajabi, open the Payments country dropdown. If your country is listed, use native payments and stop here.
  2. Check whether PayPal can receive money where you live. Kajabi lets you connect PayPal as a payment method. On Teachable, PayPal is an extra method inside the Custom Payment Gateway, which needs Stripe. If PayPal is send-only in your country (N. Macedonia) or absent (Pakistan), skip this route.
  3. Decide whether a company abroad is worth it. A US LLC through Stripe Atlas or an Estonian company gives you your own Stripe. Our first-year estimate for the company and accountant alone is about €1,799 (US) or €2,443 (EU), plus a yearly US Form 5472 with a $25,000 penalty if missed (cost breakdown). It pays off at higher volume, not for a first course.
  4. If not, create the course as a product on a merchant of record. In AgentaOS, open Products > New product, enter the course name, price and description, and copy the buyer link (docs). Buyers pay by card in EUR or USD. AgentaOS is the official seller, so it issues the invoice and handles the tax on each sale.
  5. Keep the course on Teachable or Kajabi and close the open door. Set the course so it cannot be bought or joined for free on the platform, so the only way in is your enrolment.
  6. Enrol each buyer. On Teachable, enrol the buyer by hand from Users; it bypasses checkout, and no confirmation email is sent (Teachable). On Kajabi, open Contacts and click Grant Offer; Kajabi sends the offer confirmation email (Kajabi). To automate it, send an AgentaOS webhook to Zapier and use Teachable's "Enroll User in Course" action (Growth plan or higher) or Kajabi's "Grant Access to an Offer" action (Kajabi).
  7. Get paid and declare it. AgentaOS pays out to your own bank twice a month: EUR or USD in N. Macedonia and Serbia, USD in Pakistan (N. Macedonia, Serbia, Pakistan). Income from abroad is yours to declare at home; ask a local accountant.
Trade-offs

What do I lose outside the Teachable checkout?

Selling outside Teachable's or Kajabi's checkout is allowed (both offer manual enrolment), but some things stop being automatic:

  • Enrolment. The platform does not know about the sale. You or your automation enrol each buyer.
  • Welcome emails on Teachable. Manual enrolment sends no confirmation email, so email the login steps yourself.
  • Plan limits. Teachable's manual enrolment bypasses pricing-plan limits such as access duration and enrolment caps.
  • Bundles and coaching on Teachable. Manual enrolment covers single courses; bundles and coaching use bulk import, on the Growth plan and above.
  • Purchase automations on Kajabi. A granted offer does not trigger your "Offer is purchased" automation, so set up a separate trigger.
  • Platform affiliates and upsells. These run on the platform's checkout; check what you would give up before you switch.

There is no direct AgentaOS integration with Teachable or Kajabi today (checked against our integrations docs, 6 November 2026). The webhook or Zapier step is yours to set up.

Before you start

Checklist: before you sell your course outside Teachable

  • Your country checked in Teachable or Kajabi payment settings
  • PayPal checked for receiving money in your country, on PayPal's own page
  • A EUR or USD account at your bank (a foreign currency account)
  • Course created as a product, with a clear name and price
  • Free or self-enrol access to the course switched off on the platform
  • Enrolment plan: by hand, or webhook plus Zapier
  • Welcome email with login steps ready (Teachable sends none on manual enrolment)
  • Refund wording on the course page that matches what you will do
  • Your accountant told about income from abroad
What AgentaOS cannot do

When is AgentaOS the wrong choice?

  • You are eligible for native payments. Teachable or Kajabi Payments enrols students for you. Use it.
  • You sell hundreds of seats a week with upsells and affiliates. Manual enrolment will not keep up, and you lose platform features. A company abroad with your own Stripe may be worth the cost.
  • You need cash on day one. Every new account starts with up to 15% of each sale set aside for 120 days, and courses paid now but starting later can have up to 100% held until delivery plus 120 days (Terms, section 9.2). The rate that applies is shown in your account.
  • Your buyers only want PayPal and you are in Serbia. PayPal on Kajabi is simpler.
Where AgentaOS fits

Where does AgentaOS fit?

If your country is not on Teachable's or Kajabi's list and Stripe will not take you, AgentaOS sells the course as the official seller, buyers pay by card, and you get paid to your own bank. It pays out to 86 countries, including N. Macedonia, Serbia and Pakistan, with no company abroad needed.

Questions

Related questions

Can I use Teachable's Custom Payment Gateway without Stripe?

No. Teachable's Custom Payment Gateway connects your own Stripe Standard account. PayPal is offered only as an extra payment method inside it. If Stripe does not accept sellers in your country, this gateway does not work for you.

Is Kajabi Payments available in N. Macedonia, Serbia or Pakistan?

No. Kajabi Payments covers businesses in the US, Canada, Australia, the UAE, the UK and 20 euro countries, checked 6 November 2026. Elsewhere you connect Stripe or PayPal yourself.

Can I sell a Teachable course from Serbia with PayPal?

On Kajabi, yes: PayPal connects as a payment method and works for receiving money in Serbia. On Teachable, PayPal sits inside the Custom Payment Gateway, which needs Stripe. Withdrawing PayPal money to a Serbian bank costs 550 RSD.

Can I keep my course on Teachable and take payment elsewhere?

Yes. Teachable lets owners enrol students without checkout, and Kajabi lets you grant an offer. You sell through a merchant of record like AgentaOS, then enrol each buyer by hand or through a webhook and Zapier.

Do I need a company to sell an online course from N. Macedonia?

Not with a merchant of record. AgentaOS accepts individuals and companies in N. Macedonia, Serbia and Pakistan and pays out to your own bank. Your own Stripe would need a company in a country Stripe supports.
