How much does Stripe charge per transaction?

In the EU, Stripe charges 1.5% + €0.25 per card payment with a European card and 3.15% + €0.25 with a card from outside Europe. In the US, it charges 2.9% + $0.30 per card payment, plus 1.5% for international cards and 1% when currency is converted.

Not on standard pricing. You pay per successful payment. Subscriptions through Stripe Billing add 0.7% of billing volume.

How much does Stripe Tax cost?

Stripe Tax Basic costs 0.5% per transaction where you are registered to collect tax. Tax Complete starts at €80 a month in the EU (Ireland pricing) and $90 a month in the US, on a 1-year contract. Basic calculates the tax; registering and filing in each country is still your job unless you pay for Complete.

Is Stripe a merchant of record?

No. With Stripe you stay the seller, so registering for VAT and sales tax abroad and filing returns is your job. A merchant of record is the seller on each sale and handles that for you.
