Carrd payments without Stripe: how do I sell from my Carrd site?
The problem“My Carrd page is live and my template is ready. Carrd's payment form asks for Stripe API keys, and Stripe does not open accounts in my country.”
To take Carrd payments without Stripe, link a normal Carrd button to an outside checkout link: Carrd's built-in payment forms run only on Stripe, but its buttons can open any URL. For digital products, subscriptions and fixed-price service packages, AgentaOS gives you that link, acts as the legal seller, handles the buyer's VAT, and pays you to your own bank in 86 countries. The buyer then comes back to a thank-you section on your Carrd site.
Which payment methods does Carrd support?
Stripe, plus a few widgets. Carrd's payment form guide says a payment-enabled form "inserts a Stripe Checkout payment screen between the submission and processing steps", and you set On Click to "Require payment (via Stripe)", then enter your Stripe API keys. No other processor is named for forms.
Separately, Carrd's Widget element offers Stripe, Gumroad, Facebook, PayPal and Typeform. The PayPal widget "allows you to add buttons to accept payments, donations, and subscriptions via PayPal", using your PayPal Merchant ID. That only helps if your PayPal account can receive money where you live; see PayPal won't let me receive money.
Carrd does not mention Square, Snipcart or GoCardless in its docs (not stated).
Which Carrd plan do I need?
It depends on the route. Carrd's docs, checked 7 November 2026:
- Payment-enabled forms: "Requires Pro Plus or higher" (Carrd). Pro Plus is $49 a year (Pro Plans).
- Widgets (Stripe, PayPal, Gumroad): included from Pro Standard, $19 a year, which "Embed third-party widgets from Stripe, PayPal, Gumroad, Typeform, and Facebook" (Pro Plans).
- Custom code: "Requires Pro Standard or higher" (Embedding Custom Code).
- A button that links to a URL: Carrd's docs list no plan requirement for links (not stated).
Can a Carrd button link to an outside checkout?
Yes. Carrd's URL Types page says: "Carrd supports linking any button, icon, or other 'linkable' element" to a Site URL, which will "Open an external site". Add `||blank` after the URL to open it in a new tab.
Carrd sections can be linked the same way. Carrd's section guide says "each section can be deep-linked by simply appending its hash-prefixed name to the site's URL (eg. foo.carrd.co/#work)". That is how the buyer gets back to your thank-you section after paying.

Carrd plans and quotes checked 7 November 2026 (Carrd Pro). Stripe's own country list is at stripe.com/global.
AgentaOS charges 4.5% + €0.50 per card sale, or 6.0% + €0.50 for cards issued outside the EEA, with no monthly fee (facts). AgentaOS is the official seller, so it charges the buyer's VAT or sales tax, issues the invoice, and handles refunds and chargebacks. Payouts run twice a month, on the 1st and the 15th, to your own bank (payouts docs).
What you can sell. Templates, e-books, courses, software, memberships billed monthly or yearly, and services as fixed-price packages: the same deliverable, price and delivery time for every buyer (Terms). Not allowed: physical goods or anything shipped, and custom work scoped per client.
Can I embed the checkout on my Carrd page?
Yes, on Pro Standard or higher, though we have not tested it on Carrd ourselves. Our embedded checkout docs give a script tag for "inline in a spot you choose, or as an overlay". Carrd's Embed element accepts "<script> tags containing Javascript code" when Type is Code.
Two rules from our docs. First, add your Carrd address (for example `https://yourname.carrd.co`) under Settings → Developers → Approved sites: "The browser refuses to show your checkout anywhere else." Second, Carrd says "the embed element will not actually output anything in the builder", so publish the site to see it. On the free Carrd plan, use the button link. How do I take Carrd payments without Stripe, step by step?
- Check your country. Find it on our country list. Sell in your own name, with your own ID and bank.
- Create the product. In AgentaOS, add a name, a price in EUR or USD, and choose One-time or Subscription (Monthly or Yearly) (payment links docs). In live mode, Subscription unlocks once your business is verified.
- Build the thank-you section. In Carrd, add a Control element, set Type to Section Break and name it `thanks`. Put the download link or, for a service, your booking form under it. Do not link it from your menu.
- Set the Success URL. Back in AgentaOS, under After payment, click + Redirect buyers after payment and enter `https://yourname.carrd.co/#thanks` (or your custom domain). Then make one test purchase in test mode and check that you land on the thanks section; if the section does not open, use a separate Carrd site or page as the thank-you page instead.
- Link your Carrd button. Click the button, paste the product's buyer link (`https://app.agentaos.ai/pay/…`) into its URL field, and publish.
- Test it on a phone. Pay in test mode, check you land on the thank-you section, and check the receipt email.
- Go live and get paid. New sales clear for 14 days, then go out on the next payout once you have at least €50 or $50 available (payouts docs). Declare the income at home; ask a local accountant.

When is AgentaOS the wrong choice?
If Stripe serves your country and you only sell to buyers who do not need VAT handled, Carrd's own Stripe form may be simpler. If you ship physical goods or quote custom work per client, we cannot take it. A hidden Carrd section is not locked: anyone with the address can open it, so for valuable files, send buyers to a link you can change, or a separate site with Carrd's password protection (Pro Plus). New accounts start with 15% of each sale held for 120 days (Terms, section 9).
